Did the Yankees take a bath with signing Sabathia?

Did the New York Yankees take a bath signing C.C. Sabathia to a $161 million dollar contract? Take a look at his postseason record so far. In the N.L. NLDS last year, the Phillies lit up C.C. he pitched 3.2 innings, he finished with a 12.27 era with 5 runs earned and 6 hits with 4 walks and 5 strikeouts. Yes, I know C.C. was pitching on short rest, but this is why this type of pitcher is the ace. Look at 2007 for C.C., in the playoffs in 2007 in the ALCS for the Indians, again C.C. was in 2 games started with an average era of 10.45 with 10.1 innings pitched between both games batters hit him with 17 hits and 12 runs with 7 walks and only 9 strikeouts in both games is what C.C. ended up with.

His regular season record is what the Yankees based their offer for. Was Sabathia over valued in this season's available pitchers? The answer is yes, but for now, C.C. will be wearing pinstripes in the Bronx next year. C.C. has never even been in a World Series game yet, and with the postseason record he has now, he can only improve. That is being optimistic in reality. Is C.C. just a good regular season pitcher? That answer is again, yes, until he proves otherwise.
