Show 100 - Philly Sports Talk Now! - (Aug 27 2008)

Time for celebration, it's Show 100 - it has been 100 shows and nearly two years of weekly shows of our podcast. We talk about the big Phillies win, and what it took for them to get back into first place.

We bring you our NFL football picks special on this show, we tell you how we think the Eagles do. Jimmy recalls some of our better moments of the shows we've done. There is a special edition with a look back after this show at our first few shows we did almost two years ago. Now, we've streamed 100 shows to all of the USA, via the Talkshoe network and all around the world on our iTunes ready show as well.

Phillies postseason tickets

Just received my Phillies postseason package. If they make the postseason that is! The Division Series will start on October 1st which is a Wednesday and cover through the first week of October. The Division Series is a five game series and the winner moves up to the National League Championship series which is a seven game series. The winners of those series in the National and American leagues go onto the World Series which will see game 1 played on October 22nd which is also a Wednesday.

Here are the prices on the playoff tickets:

NL Division Series: Oct 1st - 7th

Field Level $70

All other areas: $40

NL Championship Series: Oct 9th - 18th

Field Level: $120

All other areas: $80

World Series: Oct 22nd - Oct 30th

Field Level: $225

Most other areas: $150

Terrace Deck - Pavillion Deck: $125

Now all the Phillies have to do is get into the playoffs, and that at this time doesn't look like a shoe in.

Show 99 - Philly Sports Talk Now!

The Phillies are in a race again for a division title, the fans still boo Jimmy Rollins. Oh, the fans what a memory, he's the 2007 National League MVP, and they still boo him. They aren't even deserving of a player like Rollins. What a shame.

Well, here is all of the show as we recorded it live on Aug 21 2008. Show 99- one more show to 100!

The Phillies can't seem to win the big one

This team is not a team that can win when they need to. The Phils needed to win over the Marlins this afternoon to send a message that they are the team to beat! They couldn't do it, they lost two out of three to the Marlins at home when they really needed a big win.

The team doesn't show heart when it needs to, run support has disappeared for Cole Hamels who earlier in the year looked like a shoe in to win 20 games. Now, it looks like Cole might not be able to get to 15 wins the way things are going.

The Phillies do not send the message that they are the team to beat, can they rely on luck to get them to the next level? They may have to, the way they have been playing. I wouldn't bet on them making it far into the playoffs like this, but first they have to make it to the playoffs.
