We'll try again soon for our next show, Jim 'Sports Dog' Mulry was unable to make tonight's show on Philly Sports Talk Now! so we'll have to reschedule it soon!
Meanwhile, the Yankees pickup Ivan Rodriguez, is there no farm system that the Yankees have? If you need somebody, you just go out and sign them! It's the Yankee way. Posada goes down for the year, no problem - the Yanks go out and bring in a career slugger of a catcher with no problem. I hope those people in the $2500 seats next year get a winning ballclub though, with all that money the Yankees spend, it's almost like buying love, you can't really do that, and you can't buy a winning team either.
More on this on our next show!

Adam Eaton aka 'Jekyll and Hyde' gets early rest
The pitching potion was mixed poorly as Adam 'Jeckyll and Hyde' Eaton looked terrible as he got rocked tonight against the MetsAdam Eaton didn't show his better side tonight. A 'quality start' this was not. The Mets batters swatted him like he was pitching wiffle ball underhanded tonight as the Mets jumped out to an 8-0 lead before Charlie Manuel strolled out to take the ball from Eaton's hand. No Charlie didn't bother going out to the mound prior to this, nor did the pitching coach who watched helplessly from the dugout. Is Dubee to blame for all of this mess? See my post at www.fightinphillies.com for more on my theory about this
Eaton showed his ugly side tonight, and the Phillies couldn't dig themselves out of that deep hole.
Eaton tonight: IP 2.2 Hits 10 Runs 8 Stikeouts 1

Pedro used to be good, now he's not
The Phillies should score 6 against me! says PedroThe Phillies should win tonight's ballgame, and if Eaton pitches the way the is capable of pitching against the Mets, the Phillies should cruise to their 49th win of the season tonight. The Mets are creeping up the standings, and now sit only 3.5 games away from tieing the Phillies for the lead spot in the NL East. This is really a must win for the Phillies, they should take this game very seriously and play to win: bunt, sac fly, whatever it takes!
Note to Ryan Howard, just bunt! It will surprise the defense and you just may succeed. We need to get a sac fly with runners in scoring position -
My prediction Phillies 7 Mets 4

Phils turn it around at home
The Phillies snapped out of their tough road trip against the American League and have turned some bleak play from that road trip into some more wins vs the division rival Braves and Mets. The Phils swept the Braves for the second time this season with a three game sweep down in Atlanta. The Phils also beat the Mets in dramatic fashion on Friday night breaking the tied up game with a game winning bottom of the ninth win, that sure is what the Phillies needed in the first game of the 4 game stand against the Mets.
Tune into the Philly Sports Talk Now show later at 6:30 pm on Sunday night, where we will talk more about the spirited play of the Phillies and a whole lot more.
