Phils Bow Out in Game 3

The Rockies momentum continued on Saturday night in a game I really thought the Phillies were going to win. The game was tied 1-1 with a Shane Victorino homerun to tie it up and I thought that the Phillies floodgates would open with a little offense but it was no where to be found. The majestic steamroller offense that the Phillies displayed during the season was in fact completely out of gas.

Aaron Rowand said it best, "We just didn't hit." His quote sums up the series very well and there is basically nothing more to add to it. The Phillies gave the season a great ride with the division winning drive that they produced. I thought maybe the celebration went on too long after the Phils clinched the NL East but then again, the Phillies weren't even supposed to clinch the division at all so the euphoria that was expelled during the celebration may have taken the offense 'edge' with it.

All in all, I think it was a great season for the Phillies. They played their hearts out and won the title in the NL East from the Mets. What if we were Mets fans they are probably still in shock over what happened to their team. The Phillies made 2007 a very memorable year, yes it would have been nice to see them in the NLCS, but that isn't going to happen and we'll have to wait till next season to see how they'll do again.
